Reese decided to give mommy a bit of a scare at the very last minute. Eleven weeks of ATU testing to monitor her heart rate and at my very last appointment last Thursday, she decided to act up. The tracing was looking a little "suspicious", which means that the nurses weren't getting her heart rate to go up like it should in a 20 minute time interval. It wasn't an emergency situation, but it was concerning enough to call the perinatologist and my OB. A decision was then made to admit me to the hospital and go ahead with the induction a few days earlier than originally planned. After 9 hours of lying on the most uncomfortable gurney down in triage, I finally got my own room. Here I am playing the waiting game...

My good friend, Patrice, was in the delivery room during the birth. She had always wanted to see a baby being born, so we asked her if she would like to be in there with us. It worked out great, because Johnny wasn't able to be close by since he had a stomach bug, so Patrice was by my side during the delivery helping out.
It was a bit different this time. Two good pushes and less than 10 minutes later, our little girl was born.
Reese Elizabeth Wigglesworth, born May 20th at 4:42 pm and weighing 7 pounds, 15.2 ounces, 20 inches long.
Lots of people wanting to hold her...

Abby is a proud big sister and adjusting very well to this new transition. When Grandma told her that her baby sister was going to be born that day, Abby's response was, "Finally, it has been so long". She then counted to 11 using her fingers and said, "Eleven days"! All I have to say is I WISH!
