Johnny took Abby to her pediatric opthamologist today for her yearly check. It went really well. Dr. Satterfield has taken photos of Abby's hemangioma since her first appointment to track its growth and involution (this is the phase when it decreases). She told Johnny that it has significantly shrunk since her last appointment at one year, and her astigmatism is not as bad as a result. We won't know if Abby ends up with a permanent astigmatism that might require glasses until the hemangioma is gone for good (one way or another). Here are some pics of our own that kind of show the growth of it during the first year and then what it looks like today.

Look at how red it was back then.

As you can see, her hemangioma has decreased a bit and is less red looking. She does notice it though as I have seen her touching it at times. She hasn't asked us about it yet, but when she does, we will tell her it is how God made her and he gave her this beauty mark to let her know how special she is.
